btc Stevenage Presents Budding Connections - A Spring Networking Event
On Thursday 27 February, the btc hosted “Budding Connections” a new spring networking event. As anticipated as the season itself, the day started with a warm welcome from Centre Operations Manager, Mikhail Konovalenko, who set the scene by touching on the wealth of facilities available at the btc including affordable office space, meeting and conference rooms, virtual services and, of course, networking events.
Next up Wenta business advisor Matt Cheevers gave us a comprehensive overview of the BAST team, outlining the free, impartial business support, advice and training available for small businesses.
Managing Partner and Statutory Director, Robert Bradman and Payroll Manager, Kasia Field, from Wilder Coe, a btc-based accountancy firm, then shared their insights into business experiences and provided the latest updates on upcoming important financial changes.
Kieran Thorpe, Growth Account Manager from the Hertfordshire Growth Hub, spoke about how the hub and its partners create a gateway for business support, bringing organisations together in one place, helping businesses to thrive by offering the right support at the right time.

Finally Dave Melin from Amtech presented Eve Connectivity and how their innovative VOIP solutions can support businesses everywhere now and in the future.
We opened the floor for our Pitch Your Business – Pass the Mic session where we were pleased to welcome several entrepreneurs who all had the chance to introduce themselves and their business. We heard from
- Chris Cheetham from Safer Charging Limited
- Lisa Courts from SPS Specialist Protection
- Darren Carter from Carter Financial Planning Ltd

- Mark Longman from Encore Football
- Anna Fearon from AMF Digital
- Catherine Trillo-Blanco from Acorn Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy Ltd

A big thank-you also goes to our presenters and all who spoke during pass the mic – it is always inspiring to hear from budding entrepreneurs, especially the stories and successes behind their businesses.
