Wenta welcomes Peter Abel as new CEO
It's a fresh chapter for Wenta as Peter Abel takes the helm.
Wenta is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Abel as our new Chief Executive Officer, marking an exciting new chapter for the organisation as we continue our mission to make it easier for people to start, run and grow successful businesses.
Peter joins Wenta with a wealth of commercial, operational and leadership experience gained across the financial services, banking and hospitality sectors. He takes over from Ed Jordan, who has led Wenta since 2017, overseeing a period of significant growth and transformation that has strengthened our support for entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses across England.
For more than 42 years, Wenta has been helping people turn great ideas into successful businesses. Through affordable workspaces in Enfield, Potters Bar, Stevenage and Watford, alongside free business advice, skills training, webinars and practical support, we've helped more than 110,000 businesses take their next step.
Peter is looking forward to building on that legacy.
He said: "I am delighted to be joining Wenta at such an exciting time in its history. Wenta has built an outstanding reputation over more than 42 years for supporting entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses, and for creating genuine economic and social impact in the communities it serves. What particularly resonates with me is Wenta's mission to make it easier and greener for everyone to start and run a successful business. Small businesses are an instrumental part of our economy and I am passionate about ensuring they have access to the support, skills, workspaces and opportunities they need to thrive. I look forward to working alongside our talented team, partners and stakeholders to build on Wenta's strong foundations and help even more businesses to achieve their ambitions."
Peter's appointment comes as Wenta continues to expand its services, partnerships and digital support, helping even more entrepreneurs access the guidance and resources they need, wherever they are on their business journey.
Louise Parkes, Chair of Wenta, welcomed Peter to the organisation.
She said: "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Peter to Wenta. He brings extensive commercial expertise, proven leadership experience and a genuine passion for helping organisations grow and succeed. I would also like to express our sincere thanks to Ed Jordan for his outstanding contribution to Wenta. His leadership has helped the organisation continue to adapt to the changing needs of small businesses whilst remaining true to its social purpose and shaping the organisation's direction for continued success.
As we look ahead, our focus remains unchanged: making entrepreneurship more accessible and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to start, run and grow a successful business.
Please join us in welcoming Peter to the Wenta team.
